Quite a few people grind their teeth due to bruxism. Many of our patients visit the clinic for this issue, often mentioning that while it does not bother them much, their family is affected by the noise of their teeth grinding.

People with these issues often choose to treat them with a bruxism appliance. Teeth grinding during sleep is unrelated to a person’s willingness to control. There is no definitive way to treat the symptom; however, bruxism appliances and Botox treatment are the most commonly used options.

Therefore, in today’s post, we would like to introduce the bruxism appliance used in our clinic.

We would like to caution you not to be misled by commercials on the internet that promote making bruxism appliances that can be quickly adjusted with just hot water. These rudimentary appliances can actually damage your teeth and significantly alter your occlusion. As a result, using them is strongly discouraged in the dental community.

Therefore, dental bruxism appliances cannot be made in such a careless method.

The dental model should be created outside the mouth to get a precise impression of the individual’s teeth from the front to the back teeth, including the gums, allowing for visibility of the molars and matching the actual teeth and the occlusion of patient.

The bruxism appliance is made from a durable material, taking occlusion and other variegated factors into account.

As researches have shown, if the bruxism appliance is made form a soft material, it can rather lead to clenching the teeth more and negatively impact exsiting bruxism symptom.

Additionally, the dental bruxism appliances made at the dental clinic are custom-made, so there can never be an appliance that is analogous to someone else’s, and it is impossible for someone else’s to fit you!

개인맞춤형 이갈이 장치: 55만원 (제작기간: 일주일~10일정도)

Custom Dental Night Guards for Grinding Teeth: 550,000 KRW (production time: approximately 7~10 days)

개인맞춤형 턱관절 스플린트 장치: 60만원 (제작기간: 일주일~10일정도) 

Custom Dental Bruxism Splint: 600,000 KRW (production time: 7~10 days)

*이갈이, 턱관절, 이악물기 등의 치료목적시: 치료 전 턱관절 엑스레이 포함 검진이 들어가며 검진에 대한 건강보험료가 추가됩니다. 

* For treatment purposes such as teeth grinding, TMJ disorders, or jaw clenching: 

TMJ X-ray is included in the pre-treatment general examination, and health insurance costs will be added for the examination.

* 미용 목적시: 10프로의 부가세가 관련법에 의해 부가됩니다.

For cosmetic purposes: There is no examination fee, but a 10% VAT will be applied as required by law.

At Yonsei Yegam Dental Clinic, we do not pre-mix the Botox powder for storage to ensure the best results with the treatment. Instead, we mix it after the patient has agreed to the Botox treatment.
