Today, we’d like to share the case of a patient who flew all the way from Hong Kong, not for travel, but solely to receive full-mouth implants at our clinic.

The patient was considering full-mouth implants because her teeth were becoming very loose. She was aware of her poor dental condition, and had already been advised to get full-mouth implants in a dental clinic in Hong Kong.

​

While looking into a dental clinic in Hong Kong and Taiwan, the patient's daughter learned about our clinic, which has a strong reputation in Hong Kong. She then brought her mother to Korea this time for implant treatment.

Our clinic has a lot of experience in treating patients from other countries. Our staff members at our clinic are trained to communicate in English to best accommodate and adjust to the patient’s traveling schedule.

흔들리는 브릿지 앞니 Loosening Front Teeth Bridge

As shown in the video, both the upper and lower front teeth bridges were very loose (indicating that the roots of the teeth beneath the bridges were unstable), making extraction unavoidable.

It was important to preserve as many teeth as possible. However, it was challenging with the upper teeth, so we had to remove them all for the full-mouth implants. In contrast, we were able to save some of the lower teeth and decided to perform implants only on the remaining areas.

The day after the patient arrived, we successfully proceeded to place all the planned implants.

If the patient’s bone condition is good, we could immediately place temporary teeth in other areas as well. However, because the patient’s gum bone was quite weak at that time, we placed dentures in the upper jaw until the bone and implant roots bonded properly. For the lower front, we created temporary teeth for the lower front, which can be taken in and out.

The denture itself may have been uncomfortable, and since it was not the final one, the patient might have experienced quite some discomfort. However, because the pain from her previous poor dental condition was much more severe, she adapted well to the temporary teeth and denture.

Even with the temporary teeth and dentures, the patient’s facial structure and overall shape appeared much more balanced than before. After the initial treatment, the patient returned briefly to Hong Kong while waiting for the implants to properly integrate with the jawbone. Since an improperly attached implant is like a flag stuck in sand, we allowed about three months for the implants to bond securely with the bone. After that, the patient returned to Korea, and we successfully completed the final placement of the implant heads.

As shown in the images, it is clear that the patient’s facial line seems much more balanced than before. When we look at her previous photo, her lips were more protruded than the post treatment image.

The patient returned to Hong Kong feeling very pleased and satisfied with the results, allowing us to happily conclude the case as well.

In conclusion, this case involved a patient from Hong Kong who came to us, Yonsei Yegam Dental Clinic located at City Hall Station, for full-mouth implants treatment. After consltation, we performed multiple implant surgeries at once, including implants for full upper jaw, right lower molars, and lower front teeth.
